Ooty Flower Show 2020 is now open !
This visual extravaganza that attracted 3 lakh visitors last year is expected to attract double the number of visitors during the Covid 19 lockdown! Because it is virtual this year and is coming to your phone. A group of Horticulture and Heritage lovers under the leadership of the District collector has put in tremendous efforts to continue the tradition in its 124th year by showcasing 35000 plants and 3 special varieties namely Calla Lilly, Lisianthus and Agastache. A 25 year old Love Story from the Blue Mountains !
Regardless of the ‘Covid-19 thorn’, Roses are in full bloom at the 17th Rose Show at the Ooty Rose Garden in its 25th year. 171 people has painstakingly grown 32000 plants of 4201 varieties. The ones specially grown this year are Kochia Burning Bush, Viola F1 Atlas Black and Cyclamen F1 Mammoth Mix. Welcome to the virtual tour of SIM’s PARK, Coonoor, India. It is that time of the year when thousands from across the world go for that refreshing walk in this 1874 park spread across 12 hectors at an altitude of 1780 meters above sea level. It is the 54th Annual Show by the Department of Horticulture. 91 people has worked hard from January 2020 to bring you more than 1000 exotic varieties of plants. Varieties specially grown this year are Marigold F1 Vanilla, Salvia lavender and Chrysanthemum.
